When King Taysasluny, found Jaycie missing, he ordered a search for her throughout the palace but did not find her. It was not until the next morning that it occurred to him that she may have sneaked out the palace walls with the twins. (Someone had tipped him off about the guard. The guard was killed.) He had the guards search his kingdom for weeks until he finally gave up. The loss of Jaycie, his favorite concubine, caused him to become a tyrannical maniac and he took away everyone's rights. Many people were executed when he became angry. Anyone who was caught or even suspected of talking about the king's affair with Jaycie was put to death.The king did not want any reminders. No one could sooth his anger, not even his other mistresses. The people in the villages surrounding the palace suffered also. In recent years, the king was less angry and killed less people per year so the everyone relaxed a bit. What had happened more than ten years ago became a distant and dim memory.
