- In February of 1999, the Canadien government approved the request of the meat packing
industry to use iron oxide instead of caramel to decorate Black Forest Ham. Iron Oxide,
is..well...RUST! According to the industry, rust is cheper and binds
better to the ham and health officials insist that it is safe for humans to eat.
- A man was sentenced to 30 days in jail in Virginia in January of 1999 for telephoning
his supervisor more then 50 times to complain about being rated "highly
sucessful" instead of "outstanding."
- An impatient man was arrested in Indiana in March of 1999 after shooting up a
slow-swirling toilet in a tavern with his .40-caliber Beretta.
