  • The initial route of the 1908 Olympic Marathon was 26 miles long. However, its length was increase to 26.2 miles so that runners would finish in front of the Royal Box of Queen Alexandria of Great Britain. Ever since, that has been the length for all marathons.
  • Michael Jordan (of basketball fame) appeared to have an impossibly long hang time (time spent in the air) because he released the ball on the way down instead of at or before the peak of his jump.
  • In the NBA draft lottery (to decide which team get to choose new players first), Orlando won, both in 1992 and in 1993.
