- In the Arctic, prevailing winds blow snow to form parallel ridges called sastugi. For
centuries, Inuits have used this natural phenonmenon to give them direction as they
traveled along the frozen Arctic plain.
- A few oil lamps in an igloo can raise the internal temperature to 65 degrees Fahrenheit
above the outside air temperature.
