September 29, 2002 - Bhagavad Gita Performance |
|
The Bhagavad Gita performance today was awesome! The dorm subsidized half the cost.
How fitting since we were also studying the Gita - albeit the ending of it whereas the performance covered the whole story.
There was singing and dancing - some of the singing was done in English for the benefit of audience members who do not know the language. Most of the audience were ethnically Indian and came in traditional attire. During the intermission, some nice snacks were sold. Unfortunately, the K@ does not remember what they were called, only that one was fried and there was sauce.. and that her taste buds liked it. It was also Barbeque Welcome night at the Dining Hall - unfortunately, the performance ran for about 4 hours... and so there was no dinner left for those of us who went to see it. Trade offs.. opportunity costs... I did eat when I got back to my room though, due to the foresight of my mother, who had insisted I take some food with me to college :-)
