Midterm Stress, Laundry Lessons, Grapefruit, Two Screw Your Roommate Dances

What I learned this week:

1) Just because I think I'm smart in doing laundry during the middle of the day during the middle of the week doesn't mean I know how to operate a dryer. End result: Wasted a dollar and much time. (Wednesday)

2) Drinking boiling water scalds one's tongue. (Saturday)

3) Burned taste buds does not facilitate eating.

4) Grapefruit does not taste as bad as I always imagined (Sunday)

I'm busy studying econ and CS right now. There is nothing like Stanford to make you feel like you are always one class/assignment behind.

To backtrack a little, I was very very glad I did not enter the CS106A AfterDark contest. I would have SO not won. Amazing things people can come up with.

Friday: Dinner and "dance", ok, just dance for FloMo's SYR went pretty well. It was held in the Faculty Club and I took advantage of the opportunity to do a fairly thorough exploration of a building I wouldn't normally have the chance to do so. I'm gladmy groupliked, or at least didn't mind Mediterranean food. We walked around University Avenue for a couple hours afterwards because some people were looking for desserts, and eventually ended up in Borders. Reminds me of high school - people were always at Borders. And dance - haha, try doing swing or Lindy-hop to hip-hop/rap. Really doesn't work.  There was ONE Swing Song, Kylie Minogue's Love at First Sight, and by request, Daft Punk's One More Time.

So... Saturday brought another SYR. Ice Skating with Serra people - I was Prabhu's "blind date"... this is Katie's fault :-P Skating was quite fun, albeit tiring. I haven't skated since Stanford started. Thank you Serra people! I also met a bunch of nice people - another good thing of SYR. Also, in general, ice skating music is better than the music they play at dances. Ok, why DON'T they play dance music or techno music at dances in general? What about swing/waltz/chacha/salsa?

I also had Just More stuck in my head for 9 hours straight...

I agree with Elusive5Point0 - grades could end now. I'll take the grades now. Then can I be exempt from the next two/three weeks' assignments exams?
